KERALA BLASTERS ACADEMY GRADUATES AIMEN AND AZHAR TO TRAVEL TO POLAND FOR TRAINING STINT WITH RAKOW CZESTOCHOWA

Kerala Blasters Football Club can confirm that academy graduates Mohammed Aimen and Mohammed Azhar are all set to join the leading Polish club Rakow Czestochowa for a three week training stint. These academy graduates will train with the Polish side where they will be able to gain important footballing experience and participate in an excellent & immersive training environment.

The twin brothers’ footballing journey started with the U15’s team of Kerala Blasters. Their steady progress through the academy teams resulted in a first senior team call up during the 2022 preseason, prior to the start of the current Hero ISL 2022/23 season. Till date, the two have represented Kerala Blasters in the Kerala Premier League, Durand Cup and NextGen Cup.

“I’m extremely happy for our young academy players to test themselves in Europe. Aimen and Azhar are great examples of hard work and professionalism and they definitely deserve this great opportunity to learn in a different environment. The club is ready to do everything possible to help every young player to develop and explore new opportunities. Also, we promise our supporters that we will keep producing young talents from the academies, which is one of the key strategic objectives of the club. Trials/training abroad is only a small part of the overall development plan being implemented,” said Karolis Skinkys, Sporting Director of Kerala Blasters, on what is surely a landmark move.

Polish club Rakow Czestochowa is currently at the top of the Polish Football League, in line for a champions league qualification next year. Aimen and Azhar, who are currently participating in the ongoing Kerala Premier League, will be travelling until the middle of December.

The club can confirm that this is the first of many more player exchanges to come as part of its commitment to youth development and academy enhancement. Everyone at Kerala Blasters Football Club wishes both Aimen and Azhar all the very best.

Kerala Blasters will be facing Hyderabad FC in the third away match of the season at GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli. The second match of the doubleheader Saturday will be the repetition of last year’s final match and both teams will be eyeing all three points.

KBFC is coming to this game after an electric win against FC Goa 3-1 in front of the home crowd. We are in the 6th position with 9 points and Hyderabad FC is on an unbeaten run they are at the pole position of the table with 16 points to their name. From the Blasters’ perspective, will be looking forward to winning the game and taking a leap in the point table, whereas HFC will try to increase their point tally.

Blasters, started off the season with an exquisite win against East Bengal FC fell short in the next game against ATKMB for 2-5. Even though it was the yellow army who took the lead against the Mariners, they came back to the game before half time and etched another win to their books.
Odisha FC is in a similar setting as well. They defeated Jamshedpur FC (2-3) in the first match of the season but failed to clinch the three points against Mumbai City FC (2-0). Both the teams are akin in their football philosophy, that is, both like to play attacking and entertaining football. Blasters will be looking forward to getting back into winning ways and to regain the mentality whereas the Kalinga warriors will be aiming for an home victory.

Kerala Blasters retained coach Ivan Vukomanovic, the core Indian team and the two foreigners – Adrian Luna and Marko Leskovic – after their dream run into the ISL finals last season. Victor Mongil, a familiar face to Indian football has joined our ranks alongside Ivan Kalyuzhnyi, Apostolos Giannou and Dimitrios Diamantakos.For bolstering our attacking side, we have brought in the likes of Saurav Mandal and Bryce Miranda from Churchil Brothers and also Bidhyashagar Singh in a loan deal from Bengaluru FC. Nihal Sudheesh and Sreekuttan MS have been promoted to the senior team from the reserves and the SAFF U-20 champion Vibin Mohanan will also join the squad after a loan-spell at Indian Arrows.

Ivan Kalyuzhnyi, who hails from Ukraine have impressed the spectators with his vision and on-the-ball control during preseason time.Youngsters Saurav Mandal and Bryce Miranda have shown glimpses of wonders throughout the whole preseason and they’re ready to give out everything on the field.Similar to the previous two editions of ISL, Jessel Carneiro will be leading the Yellow Army once again.
