    Kerala Blasters Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Kochi, Kerala, that competes in the Indian Super League. The club is built on three strong pillars of Collectivism, Inclusivity and Sportsmanship, KBFC aims to being the biggest Football Club in India that generates young and talented players who not just represents the club in the National level but also the country in an international playing field, thereby reinforcing the legacy of Kerala towards the sport.

Purpose:

    We are seeking a creative and motivated Web Designer Intern to join our team. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in designing and developing engaging websites of our organization and subsidiary organizations. The ideal candidate should have a passion for web design, proficiency in relevant design tools, and a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

● Collaborate with the design and development team to create visually appealing and user-friendly websites.

● Assist in conceptualizing and designing website layouts, graphics, and user interfaces.

● Optimize websites for maximum speed and scalability.

● Conduct website testing and troubleshooting.

● Stay updated on emerging design trends and technologies.

Requirements:

● Proficiency in HTML, CSS, WordPress, Shopify and JavaScript.

● Experience with graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Sketch.

● Strong understanding of responsive design principles.

● Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

● Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

● A portfolio showcasing previous web design projects (if available).

Generative Artificial Intelligence: beyond deepfake, the new frontiers of innovation

One common example of an LLM is ChatGPT, which demonstrates the practical applications of generative AI. In this article, we will explore the ways in which generative AI technology is fueling the spread of deepfakes, causing harm to the public discourse and the potential consequences of this trend for our society. With deepfakes becoming not only easier and cheaper to produce but more realistic and harder to determine if they’re fake, the potential for them to be used for malicious purposes is growing rapidly. Applications are the specific use cases within a business for AI, and these generally fall into one of a number of high-level categories, which is what we will be looking at today.

As organisations reinvent their operating models to leverage Generative AI, inevitably they will need to adapt internal workflows, supply chain processes and productivity output. This, in turn, will impact on their people and raise questions in Organisational Design. How many people will need to be recruited and trained to manage the systems company-wide, or within each functional area? Only with time can we answer these questions, but they will require a lot of thought and careful consideration. As generative AI becomes more advanced, it is also becoming more accessible to developers and researchers who may not have a background in machine learning.

Some generative AI tools are freely available online – either as stand-alone tools or as products that can integrate into a chain of tools that are provided by multiple developers. Although early adoption and experimentation with generative AI is key to realising its potential, if your business does not guide or restrict the use of these tools, they could potentially be used by your personnel in unanticipated and undesirable ways. Generative AI relies on the collection and analysis of vast amounts of data, which raises concerns about privacy.

The risk of relying solely on AI

Organizations like OpenAI, Stability Ai, Cohere, and our software at Speak Ai are seeing large adoption. In 2022, Jason Allen won first place in the Digital Art section of the Colorado’s State Fair Art contest for his piece ‘Théâtre D’opéra Spatial’, created using Midjourney’s AI image-generating programme. Allen inputted a combination of words and phrases and chose an image from over 900 outputs generated by the programme before printing the final product on canvas.

Examples include media houses needing skills to translate creative visions into prompts, auto companies seeking skills to generate data for simulations, and financial firms leveraging GenAI models to augment financial risk models. Artificial intelligence has the potential to revolutionize the way small business owners create content for their businesses. By simplifying the content creation process and enhancing the effectiveness of published materials, such as website content, videos, newsletters or blogs, AI can save entrepreneurs both time and money. Such requirements are particularly important where AI systems are relied on for operationally critical, regulated or customer-facing processes, especially as it may not be immediately obvious when the operation of an AI system has been hijacked.

For example, a bank’s model for predicting the risk of default by a loan applicant would not also be capable of serving as a chatbot to communicate with customers. For example, following the launch of OpenAI’s foundation model GPT-4, OpenAI allowed companies to build products underpinned by GPT-4 models. In this context, ‘downstream’ refers to activities post-launch of the foundation model and activities that build on a foundation model.

With our 2022-23 season officially drawing to a close, we at Kerala Blasters prepare to bid goodbye to our long-time associate and current assistant coach Ishfaq Ahmed as his contract with us nears its completion this summer.

Ishfaq Ahmed has been a constant both as a player and as a coach in the evolution of Kerala Blasters, since the very inception of the club. Having carved out a name for himself, as a great player in the country, by playing for some of the most notable Indian clubs, he joined Kerala Blasters in 2014. Soon after, his desire to impart the years of acquired football knowledge led him into the pathway of coaching.

In 2015, Ishfaq Ahmed started his coaching journey with us as a player-assistant. However, he would only return to the club in 2019 to take over the responsibilities of a full time assistant coach.

Ishfaq leaves with our sincerest thanks for his tireless efforts as Assistant Coach over the last 4 years. His place in the club’s history will always be special and he will forever be welcome back at Kerala Blasters as part of the Kerala Blasters family.
