Kerala Blasters will take on RoundGlass Punjab FC for the first time since the later got promoted as an ISL team, at Kozhikode’s EMS Stadium. Both teams will be playing their first game of the campaign and would like to kick-start their tournament with a victory to their name.

Kerala Blasters will square off against Bengaluru FC in a raging South Indian affair at the Sree Kanteerava stadium, Banglore. Both teams will be looking for a win to clinch the important three points on the road to play-offs.

KBFC defeated Chennaiyin FC(2-1) in their last match at home. After being a goal down, the men in yellow showed character to come back to the game and win it. Adrian Luna’s equalizing goal in the first half followed by KP Rahul’s winner in the second half gave Blasters the vital 3 points.

Bengaluru FC is currently on a 5 match winning streak. They haven’t dropped any points since the start of 2023. In their last match, the Blues defeated ATK Mohun Bagan courtesy of goals from Javi Hernandez and Roy Krishna.

Kerala Blasters faced a narrow defeat against East Bengal in the last game(1-0). Cleiton Silva’s solitary goal helped the Red and Gold Brigade to register a win over KBFC for the first time. Blasters is placed third position in the table with 28 points from 16 games.

Chennaiyin FC is coming to this game after a 2-2 draw against Odisha FC. They’re at 8th position with 18 points from 16 games. The Marina Machans still have a faint hope of getting into the play-offs, so they’ll be aiming to get all three points out of this rivalry match.

Kerala Blasters will be facing East Bengal FC in an away fixture at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata. The Blasters will be aiming to assure their spot among the top six by claiming all three points.

Kerala Blasters are approaching this game after a home win against Northeast United FC. Diamantakos’s two quick goals gave KBFC a much-needed bounce-back win. The men in yellow are in the third position in the table with 28 points from 15 games.

East Bengal FC is coming after a defeat against FC Goa. They lost to the Guars for a margin of 4-2 and are placed in 9th position in the table with only 4 wins from 15 games and a tally of 12 points.

Both these sides have met each other 5 times in the league. Blasters have an upper hand with 2 wins and the other three games ended in a stalemate.

Bryce Miranda, who got his first-ever HeroISL start, had a very good day at the office. He continuously lit up the left flank, produced accurate crosses multiple times, and provided the assist for Dimi’s opening goal.

Adrian Luna never fails to impress us. He was pivotal in Blasters’ midfield and gave an assist for Dimi’s second goal with an accurate lob pass.

THE REWIND : KBFC vs MCFC

Kerala Blasters clinched an exquisite win against Mumbai City FC in the crucial match of the season(3-1). A brace from Alvaro Vazquez and a first-half goal from Sahal ensured us three points. Diego Mauricio scored the solitary goal for the visitors from the spot.

Ivan Vukomanovic made two changes in the starting eleven with Sahal replacing Vincy and Sandeep replacing Khabra. It was Mumbai who got things underway in the Tilak Maidan and both teams were eager to score the first goal. KBFC dominated the first half and the quick one-two passes created a lot of threat in the opposition box.

Sahal Abdul Samad broke the dead-lock through a goal which showed his ability and talent. He dribbled past Mumbai defenders with ease and produced a shot in between the legs of Mourtada Fall and Mehtab Singh. Goalkeeper was already beaten and he had no chance of saving it. The much awaited goal gave Blasters more confidence to push forward and Mumbai was also creating chances at the other end to equalize.

Alvaro Vazquez got an opportunity to double the lead from Adrian Luna’s corner, but his shot was saved by the Mumbai defence. Just before the interval, the Spaniard scored his first goal of the night from the spot. He was fouled inside the box by Islanders’ skipper Fall and the referee pointed his finger to the spot without any hesitation. Alvaro amped up for the penalty and did his job perfectly.

In the initial minutes of the second half, Blasters searched for the third goal to kill the game off, but nothing came out of the efforts. Alvaro’s second of the night came from Nawaz’s mistake. The Spaniard was putting up a lot of pressure for the Mumbai defence earlier also. Nawaz made a mistake and his miss-kick was caught by Alvaro who just tapped in the ball to the net. Mumbai’s solitary goal came from Diego Mauricio’s penalty kick. The Islanders were awarded a penalty for Hormipam’s touch on Mauricio and he converted the penalty-kick to goal.

After reducing the lead, Mumbai looked more dangerous with their attacks, but our defense stepped up and Gill supported his defensive line with proper outings and saves. In the eighty first minute, Blasters was awarded with a free-kick outside the box and this time Luna got ready for the kick. He whipped the ball towards the net, but the goalkeeper got a hand on it. He spilled the ball and Rahul, who came in for Sahal, provided a pass to Vazquez but he failed to surpass the keeper. Six minutes were added on to the second half and Blasters played an impressive game in the final minutes to keep the score at 3-1.

An important win in this game has taken KBFC to a possible play-off spot. KBFC stands fourth in the league table with 33 points from 19 games. Blasters will square off with FC Goa on 6th March, in another crucial game of the season.

MATCH PREVIEW – KERALA BLASTERS VS CHENNAIYIN FC

Kerala blasters will lock horns with our southern rivals Chennaiyin FC on 26th February 2022 on a
battle to win back the confidence. Both teams are returning from a defeat and will be striving to regain their confidence by a win.

‘Marina Machans’, who have failed to register a win in their last 6 outings will be all set to give out
everything on the field to win their next 2 matches. Closing the season on a winning
note will be the prime target for coach Syed Sabir Pasha too.

Whereas, Kerala blasters have a must win match to secure the semi-final spot. After a dream run this
season, Ivan Vukomanovic’s men will not be satisfied with anything lesser than a win. Returning from a
last-minute draw against ATK Mohun Bagan, Kerala Blasters fought hard and went down against
