A New Dawn

Kerala Blasters FC, often referred to as KBFC, was founded in 2014 with the vision of rekindling the footballing spirit in Kerala, a state that has produced some on the finest footballers in India. The aim was not only to compete but also cultivate the footballing ecosystem in the state.

Kerala Blasters made an immediate impact both on and off-the field, ending as runners-up in the very first season. The Club went on to become runners up two more times in 2016 and 2022. In this time, the team’s home ground, the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium (also referred to as Kaloor), quickly became a fortress, courtesy of the passionate Yellow Army (Manjapadda), which has created one of the most electrifying playing atmospheres in Indian Sports.

The Club’s commitment towards grassroot and youth development has paved the way for young talent to access the highest levels of football training. The KBFC Academy has played a pivotal role in developing young talent within the state, with several youngsters graduating from the academy to the main team. In addition to this, the training of more than 5000 kids under the ‘Young Blaster’s’ program further underscores the Club’s professionalism, community engagement and grassroot development.

Club Identity

Our identity, the crest is reflective of the cultural and sporting legacy of Kerala. Basis an extensive and thorough research, the logo of Kerala Blasters FC was inspired by the state animal as the starting point and built around the true spirit of Kerala.

The elephant is a symbol of strength, unity, power and pride. It symbolizes heritage, culture and spirit. Rooted in its family and community, the humble elephant showcases the aspiration and spirit of Kerala Blasters. The football held by the elephant with its trunk, is representative of the state’s deep connection with the sport.

Yellow, our primary colour and the most luminous of all colours in the spectrum, symbolizes determination, optimism and faith. It is also a prominent hue connecting various aspects that is core to the state of Kerala. Our skin is representative of our strong passion towards the game of football and also strongly symbolizes our pride to be one with Kerala in reinforcing the state’s legacy. We are and will always be #YennumYellow.
